Cindy Castillo

Cindy Castillo stands out in the organ world with programmes that explore the possible cross-pollination of the organ with other artistic languages such as dance, video and electronic music.

As a graduate of the Conservatories of Brussels, Namur, Strasbourg and Paris, laureate of the Rotary, Vocation, Wernaers and de Lacour Foundations, and first prize winner of the National Axion Classics competition (Belfius), she was appointed artist-in-residence at the Sapporo Concert Hall (Japan) in 2008-2009.

Cindy Castillo teaches organ with Hampus Lindwall at IMEP (Namur) as part of a new pedagogical project called “OrgueStudio”, and is the titular organist of the National Basilica of the Sacred Heart in Brussels.

Her project Lab’Organetto, a real nomadic laboratory created around her organetto, offers composers the possibility to create new perspectives.
