After studying musicology at KU Leuven, Jan Moeyaert studied piano, organ, and harpsichord at the Brussels conservatories. During an exchange year at the University of London, he got to know the English choral tradition up close, both as a singer and from the organ bench. He currently works as an accompanist at the Gentbrugge academy, and as a freelance organist and harmonium player in the orchestra of La Monnaie, the Flanders Symphony Orchestra, and the Belgian National Orchestra. For a time, he also accompanied the vocal, choral, and opera classes at the Ghent and Brussels conservatories. Furthermore, he is a founding member, assistant conductor, and resident composer of the Brussels Chamber Choir.
