The young German mezzo-soprano Maria Eichler captivates audiences at home and abroad with her warm timbre and strong stage presence. As a soloist, she has sung in opera productions, concerts, and oratorios on international stages. Her recent notable performances include solo parts in operas such as Handel’s Alessandro in collaboration with Theater Bamberg and the Freiburger Barockorchester, Schreker’s Flammen (Opera Accelerator, Lithuania), as well as leading roles in Dido & Aeneas and Eugene Onegin (HfMT Hamburg, Germany).
Her extensive concert experience spans alto solos in Bach’s Passions, oratorios, and various cantatas, as well as Mendelssohn’s Elias, Pergolesi’s Stabat Mater, Vivaldi’s Gloria and Magnificat, Mozart’s Requiem and several other masses, Handel’s Alexander’s Feast, and Rossini’s Petite Messe Solennelle.
Her repertoire is diverse and encompasses a wide range of works, from classical to contemporary.
In 2023 she appeared as a soloist at the Gaudeamus Festival in Utrecht and the Grachtenfestival in Amsterdam, where she sang in Daan Geysen’s award-winning composition. She was also part of the Young Artists Program “NKK NEXT” of the Netherlands Chamber Choir in 2022/2023.
In 2024 Maria performed in contemporary concerts with Claron McFadden and the Tactus Ensemble in Lyon, France, and at the KLARA Festival in Brussels. Her production Stemmen van Glas was presented at LUNALIA Lift Off in Belgium.
In addition, Maria sings in various ensembles and choirs, including Studium Chorale (NL), Flanders Bach Consort (BE), Vokaalensemble Piacevole (NL), Edvard Grieg Korene (NO), and Lauschwerk (GER).
