Helen Cassano was born in London and grew up in Madrid. She returned to London in 1999 and studied musicology at Royal Holloway, University of London. In 2002, she moved to Belgium where she obtained Master’s degrees in singing, chamber music, and choral conducting at the conservatories of Brussels, The Hague, and Leuven. In 2004, Helen’s career as a professional singer began with the Chœur de Chambre de Namur, Vox Luminis, and the Vlaams Radiokoor. After years of experience with these and other ensembles in and around Belgium, Helen joined the Huelgas Ensemble in 2015 and obtained a permanent position in the Vlaams Radiokoor in 2019. In 2007, she founded the Brussels Chamber Choir, which she conducts.
